While Redding Christian School’s Interact Club is sponsored by the Anderson Rotary Club, like all Interact Clubs, it is self-governing and self-supporting. Interact Clubs are intended to foster a lifetime of service for young people between the ages of 12 and 18, according to the Rotary International Web site.
Each year, Interact Clubs complete at least two community service projects, one of which furthers international understanding and goodwill. The other project takes on a more local flavor as students undertake a project to benefit their own community.
Club members learn the importance of developing leadership skills, maintaining personal integrity, demonstrating helpfulness, respecting others, valuing individual responsibility, working hard, advancing international understanding and spreading goodwill.
