Redding Christian Elementary School

Welcome to Redding Christian School! It is a blessing to serve a community that is committed to both academic excellence and Christ-centered education.

At RCS, we believe each child is uniquely created by God with purpose and potential. Our goal is to provide a strong academic foundation while nurturing hearts to grow in faith, character, and wisdom. By integrating biblical truth into everyday learning, we encourage students to pursue excellence and reflect Christ in all they do.

Elementary years are foundational, and our dedicated teachers create a safe, joyful environment where students feel known, valued, and inspired. We are grateful to partner with families as we guide children to grow spiritually, academically, and personally.

Thank you for being part of the RCS family. We look forward to a wonderful year of learning and growing together in Christ.

In Christ,

Erika Piper

Since 1991, Redding Christian School has been providing exceptional education to students. Our mission forms the foundation for the high-quality education we offer, but it is only the beginning.

At Redding Christian School, we believe that effective education goes beyond teaching the state standards. We embrace a comprehensive approach to education, blending high academic expectations with a rich array of social, fine arts, and extra-curricular activities. Our curriculum includes foreign language, art, music/band, physical education, and technology instruction. This diverse range of activities allows students to explore and develop their unique talents, fostering a strong sense of their strengths and interests as they grow and mature.

We strive to maintain a classroom atmosphere where students feel safe to be who God created them to be, and are stimulated to learn and grow to their fullest potential. By providing a nurturing environment and a well-rounded education, we equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and character they need to succeed in life. Our commitment to excellence in education prepares students not only for academic achievement but also for meaningful and purposeful lives.

Healthy Meals, Happy Students!

Our Kitchen Director operates our food services through the kitchen in the gym, making fresh prepared meals for our students. She has years of experience cooking for schools and summer camps, as well as restaurant service.

Information you need to know!

  • Every student, from preschool through 12th grade, can participate in the lunch program!

  • We no longer participate in the Federal/State program for lunches, so each meal will cost $4.50.

  • You can order one month at a time! The menu is available now through FACTS. Go under the Student tab on the left, and a drop-down menu will display to click Lunch.  This will open a new window in the center, and you will select Create Web Order to choose the dates your student will be getting hot lunch.  Items ordered will display in blue.

We are excited to launch this new program at RCS and offer you in house prepared menu options!

Growing Strong in Faith and Teamwork!

Learning goes beyond the classroom at RCSl! Our students enjoy exciting field trips to places like the pumpkin patch, local fire stations, and businesses in our community—bringing lessons to life through real-world experiences. In fourth grade, students take a special class trip to visit our State Capitol in Sacramento, where they explore California’s history and government firsthand. These memorable experiences help build curiosity, community connections, and lasting friendships.Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. We have a comprehensive K-5th grade music program which includes vocal and performance technique, music theory, instrumentation, listening and appreciation, as well as a whole lot of fun! Students from Kindergarten through 4th grade receive music instruction weekly. With a focus on music appreciation, students learn music and singing games from different cultures and American Folk songs. Basic note reading and rhythm skills are learned, as well as rhythm instruments.  4th-grade students learn the recorder, and students in 5th grade can participate in beginning band or choir. All students participate in class chapels and the Christmas Program each year.

Led by our art teacher, Mrs. Olmos, Elementary Art is a journey through the basic elements of art. Beginning with 45 minutes each week in Kindergarten and one hour each week for 1st through 5th grades, a foundation is created that progresses as students move through the grades. The concentration is on art, not crafts, though teachers and parent volunteers often will do craft-type projects at other times. Fun projects are chosen, but basic fundamentals of art are being learned, such as shape, color, design, and balance in a drawing. A variety of media are also used, from crayons to paint, to give students a rich experience with art. Every year, our elementary students have the opportunity to compete in the Turtle Bay Famous Artist competition, where they creatively express their talents and celebrate the joy of art.

Redding Christian School offers opportunities to learn theater in several ways. Our Musical takes place in the fall and is open to middle and high school students. The Spring Drama is open to 3rd to 12th-grade students.

We offer cross-country for students in Kinder through 5th grade. The season runs from August through the end of September, with after-school practices held on campus and meets held throughout the greater Redding area. This fun and encouraging program helps students build endurance, confidence, and teamwork while enjoying the excitement of friendly competition. Our Cross Country program grows! This dedicated time allows teachers to review student progress and data, collaborate on lesson planning and curriculum, participate in professional development and training, and improve instructional practices to better support students. Early Release days help ensure that teachers have the time they need to strengthen instruction while minimizing disruption to the regular school schedule.

Students are dismissed at:

PK/pm,1st - 5th Grade 2:00 pm

Middle School & High School 2:10 pm

Multiple child discounts pertain to immediate family members only. The first child is the child at the highest grade level. Multiple child discounts do not apply to Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten. Contact our Admissions Director here for more details.

We intentionally do not post our tuition rates online because we don't want you to make a decision this important based on price alone. Need-based financial aid is available. When you come in for your Education Consult, the Admission Counselor will cover all of that information with you. While many schools don't charge tuition, the price that your student pays in terms of values and damaged self-esteem may be too high. Though Redding Christian School charges tuition, the quality education, outstanding staff, and students, along with the opportunity to flourish, are priceless. Contact us to learn more!

Our school is a member of and fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Redding Christian School offers the highest quality education for the total child – spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical. Our goal is to provide a positive, nurturing atmosphere where each student will discover his or her area of giftedness.
